Archive for "iPhone"

I recently went back to one of the abandoned locations I shot at, but did not complete. It’s a wonderful find, in that it’s a paper mill, and not like any of the other locations I’ve documented (hospitals, hotels, etc). The best part about having gone back, is that this time I was able to locate the paper press which took up an entire wing of the building. Here’s a pict I took with my iPhone of the gears. (Actual images will appear on my site shortly.)

The Marking of Many Things

The Marking of Many Things

The marking of space for oneself is as old as time. Animals and even people sometimes (especially drunk male friends) have been known to use urine, while stories of a woman or man marking the apartment of the person they date with clothes or even a  toothbrush are not all that rare. However, when it comes to the urban endeavor and it’s exploration, the preferred instrument of use is spray paint. Mind you, I appreciate graffiti art as long as it’s well executed, however in my ongoing series entitled “Forsaken Places”, I prefer locations to be in their natural state of disarray. It was no surprise to me though when searching this new location that I happened upon paintball spray and graffiti. I was surprised however to find a mini skate park. Fortunately, I was able to work around all this and make the images I needed, leaving no trace other than the footsteps in the snow. New images to arrive on my site soon.
