Summer holiday time comes with great anticipation for most people. It’s a time to finally kick back and take a break from the rat race we usually call life. For some it means spending time with the family, while for others it means bbq-ing with friends. For people like myself, it also means a time in which I can take a deep breath and look around to gain a fresh new perspective.

Recently I took some time to explore some areas of the city I normally don’t encounter. With some time on my side and an urge to explore, I wove myself in and out of many neighborhoods in an effort to broaden my horizons and those whom I encounter. As a result, I ended up at the aquarium. Having gained entrance, I found myself visually engaged in a way I haven’t experienced since childhood. The awe of the various shapes, colors and even power of each creature helped bring me back to a place I haven’t seen in years. As a result, I managed to tap into yet another place by which to draw creativity, and appreciate the time I was afforded to do so.

A Long Look
